Enemy at the Gates

Enemy at the Gates is a war story about two of the best sharpshooters having at it in Stalingrad. Suspense really plays a role in this movie to keep the audience drawn in through the many moments that lack dialogue. This movie about Visly Zaytsev struggle is a true epitaph of his victory over Aleksandr Shcherbakov even though it is not mentioned in any soviet reports. the story has been fictionalized to some extent it give him more recognition for what is believed to be an important factor to the victory of the allies and gives recognition to him for his astounding marksmanship. Enemy at the Gates had to make a set for the movie becuase there is no Stalingrad anymore. they ended up building a set of great proportion in Berlin and filmed the Volga crossings near Cottbus (ironic both are in germany). the movie is based of a book War of the Rats. the movie helps drive you insane during the long waiting periods, it forces you to keep watching, finally when your relived of the stress there is no other feeling but that of being relived of the burden you carry
