Enemy at the Gates

Enemy at the Gates is a war story about two of the best sharpshooters having at it in Stalingrad. Suspense really plays a role in this movie to keep the audience drawn in through the many moments that lack dialogue. This movie about Visly Zaytsev struggle is a true epitaph of his victory over Aleksandr Shcherbakov even though it is not mentioned in any soviet reports. the story has been fictionalized to some extent it give him more recognition for what is believed to be an important factor to the victory of the allies and gives recognition to him for his astounding marksmanship. Enemy at the Gates had to make a set for the movie becuase there is no Stalingrad anymore. they ended up building a set of great proportion in Berlin and filmed the Volga crossings near Cottbus (ironic both are in germany). the movie is based of a book War of the Rats. the movie helps drive you insane during the long waiting periods, it forces you to keep watching, finally when your relived of the stress there is no other feeling but that of being relived of the burden you carry

The Italian Job

I recently watched the movie The Italian Job, it was a decent movie staring one of my favorites Seth Green. the movie is under the category of action/crime/thriller it fell into the typical format of an action movie. it is definitely a film worth watching perfect for late night watchers. this action movie differs from the originals becuase of low amounts of gore and violence; a movie you could watch with the family. the movie is easy to follow but still keeps you drawn to know how everything will workout. the movie starts off with a robbery by a band of fellow thieves it is perfectly executed but they are later on ambushed by one of their own

a new look

after thinking about the intro to citizen Kane it leads me to believe the intent of the approaching to Charles Kane's death bed. that is done in the perspective of someone not important at first but after viewing it a few times it makes you feel as though you are the grim reaper coming to slay Kane. through the rest of the movie it is review his impact and past of his life almost like Ebeneezer Scrooge. the movie was a great movie especially its transitions and camera movement, the plot was mostly original and throughout the movie you are hooked to figure out the riddle of what or who is rosebud.
